Chasing Harry Winston

I have had this book forever!!! I loved The Devil Wears Prada, so I thought I would give this book a try. I thought that it was a fun, predictable book. Maybe if I were more in the mid to late 20's portion of my life, I would have liked it more. Right now I am in more of the chasing baby #2 spot in life. ;) So if you like chick lit and are currently looking for a husband or just recently found yours, you may like it.

Half Broke Horses

This was our July book club book and I loved it! We had previously read another book by the same author, The Glass Castle. {I was sad to see that I did not post about that book...read.it!} This is the story of Jeannette Walls grandmother. Wow, she was an amazing woman. She had grit that was for sure. Seems like people aren't made like that anymore... It was fun to read about her grandma in the early part of the 20th century... like how she rode a horse from New Mexico to Arizona and it took like 3 weeks! It's amazing how the world has changed, isn't it! Y'all read this book. It was easy to read and fun.

In the School of the Holy Spirit

I went to a one day retreat back in January with my church and the priest mentioned Jacques Philippe as a great and easy to read author. So of course I bought like three of his books for my weekly adoration session. This was in fact a really easy book to read, but because it was MONTHS ago that I read it, I don't totally remember it... Oops. Guess it did not make that much of an impact. The one that I am currently reading though is AWESOME!

Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother

This was the June (?) Book Club book. This book is parenting on steroids. It was one of the first books that I finished in a long time, but wasn't my favorite. Amy Chua tended to over generalize Eastern vs. Western parenting. This book definitely made me feel like a slacker... It is an easy read, but I don't think that I would recommend it.

Reason to Believe

A lady from church gave me this book, and oh my goodness, it is amazing! This is the story of an Australian lawyer who is Catholic but has lost his faith. This story follows miracles in his life as well as miracles around the world. The title has to do with the reason we should all believe that the Eucharist truly is the body and blood of Christ. This is truly a life changing book. If you are Catholic and wonder about Eucharist get a copy of this book. It is amazing!

Black Heels to Tractor Wheels

This was such a fun book! It is the story of the Pioneer Woman (she has a blog you should look up!) as she falls in love with her cowboy. She is a twenty something who has recently moved home for a quick stop over before moving to Chicago. Instead this city girl falls in love with a cowboy. She is an great writer. This was a quick and easy read. If you are looking for one more book to read before summer ends, run out and get this one. SWV my copy should be traveling around the campus. ;) This one is supposed to become a movie.
